A few weeks ago, my wife and I were lucky enough to visit southern Italy and meet Peter at Positano Home Cooking. As someone who loves to cook, I was eager to learn from Peter’s approach, and he did not disappoint! Peter brings his unique style (and yes, he’s British, not Italian), blending a great sense of humor with deep knowledge of food and wine. His warmth, hospitality, and commitment to “good for you” food make the experience memorable—not to mention he’s as enthusiastic as he is insightful!While time with Peter is limited, he shares plenty of skills and stories, and we left feeling we’d made a lifelong friend rather than just taken a cooking class. Positano Home Cooking was THE highlight of our trip to Positano. Peter and his team are simply fantastic. The villa where you enjoy the class and meal have the most magnificent view of Positano. Peter is incredibly charming and the ultimate storyteller. We learned so much about the food, the region, and had plenty of laughs while enjoying our time the group. A must splurge event for your trip! Do not hesitate to book!
one of my favorite things we did in Positano. Peter was so much fun and made us feel like we were at a friend’s dinner party while also educating us. He is very passionate about food quality and preparation and it was really interesting to listen to his philosophy and processes when sourcing food. Bonus points for an absolutely beautiful atmosphere. 10/10 highly recommend!
As you travel the coast you enjoy amazing sights, sounds and sunshine. But if there is one thing you MUST do when visiting Positano, or the surrounding area, is spend an evening with Peter at Positano Home Cooking.Peter, a remarkable chef, is the son of a fisherman who grew up learning flavors and cooking from his grandmother….he will invite you into his kitchen in a 12th century villa overlooking the Positano beach, and teach you about clean, delicious and authentic Italian cooking. You will prepare and eat a divine meal of antipasti, pasta, seafood, meats, vegetables and dessert, all prepared with you so you can learn. It’s a cooking class, but you can choose to prep and cook as little or as much as you want….my husband rolled his sleeves up and helped prep some lasagna, I admittedly was chatting with others and just watched and learned.In addition, Peter has an amazing wine cellar that he opens up for you to try some very rare, small batch wines that are unique, aromatic and delicious. But he doesn’t just open the bottle, he shares the story behind how he discovered the vineyard or met the family behind the bottle. The other most delicious experience was enjoying the olive oil he uses….again, sourced from a local family, the scent and taste were divine.Peter is full of life - his extensive culinary journey and personal story has made him incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about clean ingredients, simple cooking and the people that make Italian flavors so amazing. Over a four hour evening that flies by, Peter shares those stories and knowledge with you with humor and a true love of food and wine.The Villa has one of the most amazing views we enjoyed during our trip. As the sun goes down you are overlooking the beach and the sparkling lights of the Positano hillside. And the evening is intimate with just a few couples - everyone is relaxed, ready to eat and we met some wonderful people.So I will end where I started, if there is one thing you should do during your trip to the coast, it’s book an evening with Peter at Positano Home Cooking. So delicious, so fun and an experience you will always remember with a smile.
This was EASILY the best experience we had in Italy. If you're going to Positano... you MUST do this.. We truly enjoyed meeting Peter and his wife and having the best food of our life. We loved our experience so much that when our trip to Capri got canceled the next day, we opted to come back and have another dinner with Peter. Not only was the food, wine, and view absolutely amazing, but Peter truly opened our eyes to food alternatives and how to truly invest in food and ultimately in your body. This is hands down a MUST DO experience if you visit. Pretty sure we'll be trying to replicate our seabass we made with Peter quite often.
Our dinner at Positano Home Cooking about 1.5 years ago was nothing short of amazing...the food, the wine, the company, the cooking tips & tricks, the view,...everything was absolute perfection.My fiancé and I had such a wonderful evening. We still talk about it and when we do, we always say that it was one of our favorite evenings together, and THE best meal either of us has ever eaten. Peter not only helped us prepare an incredible meal, but was very generous with his knowledge, stories, and hospitality; it was a pleasure getting to know him.
Positano Home Cooking was our favorite experience on the Amalfi Coast. Peter was a tremendous host and teacher. His team was fantastic and so hospitable. The location in Positano is so dreamy. The meal was literally some of the best food I have ever eaten. Still dreaming about the lasagna. We can’t wait to put on our own dinner party and try out some of the recipes we learned. I highly recommend you add this experience to your visit. You won’t regret it!
What a night!! We had the most incredible experience in Peter’s villa eating, drinking, laughing and learning about food and cooking. The food was delicious and the wine was flowing. It was truly our favorite night in Positano. Thank you Peter!.
I encourage you to reserve a spot with Peter’s experience. It is worth more than what you will pay. Peter is the kind of person you do not meet often. He is very clearly passionate and knowledgeable about not only food, but also life itself. It was a pleasure being served by his staff, being a part of the experience, and talking to Peter one-on-one. He was fantastic to talk to, and if he wrote a book, I’d be reading it right now. (Maybe he has written a book?) My only comment is please be aware of your alcohol boundaries as you will open MANY bottles of wine. It is absolutely amazing. If there is a bottle of wine you don’t think he has in his cellar, I guarantee he has it. His collection is breathtaking. So beyond what you would ever experience at any tasting elsewhere, and that is the theme of what Peter has crafted. It is an experience like none other, where you can feel at home, ask questions, drink as much as you want, and most importantly eat the most delicious, healthy and locally sourced food you will ever eat. I have not gotten to the food yet - just book now. He is a master of his craft and I can tell that excellence is very important to him. Unfortunately Peter said this ends October 28th, but I will be back next year and this next time I will make sure I help my wife pace herself with the wine! Where do I even start? Peter and his staff immediately make you feel apart of the family and at home. The attention to detail on every single ingredient, ensuring everything is sourced organically and with a sustainable approach- beyond exceeded our expectations. Not only are you getting to assist in the preparation, you're enjoying some of the best wines that pair perfectly with each dish. Trust me, you won't be leaving wanting for more. (Hungry or sober)We would consider ourselves "foodies" and have traveled to some of the best places in the world but, this entire experience supersedes everything we've ever had. Everytime we are back in Positano, we will be going to Peter's and experience an incredible evening. Don't even waste your time or money at the "fancy" Michelin restaurants. I can assure you, you'll never have an experience like this.Thank you to Peter and his staff for making our honeymoon that much better.
All I can say is wow. Our experience at Peter’s home for Positano Home Cooking exceeded any and all expectations. If you are coming to Positano and want an extremely special and memorable experience, you must book this experience. Each and every ingredient used in this meal has a story. Peter only uses sustainably and locally sourced ingredients that are so incredibly fresh. Not only the food but the WINE! You’ll truly get a taste all around Italy and Peter will make sure you have wines that fit your specific taste. Peter was so accommodating and truly made us feel at home. Not to mention this was the best meal we had during our entire trip to Positano. Come hungry and ready to indulge in only the best food and wine that positano has to offer. If we find ourselves back in Positano we will definitely be back for this experience!

A classically trained chef and sommelier Peter's explanation of where he sources his ingredients will make your jaw drop. The best of the best.
